Lake
Wateree is known for its mild climate, and unspoiled
natural views. It was created in 1920 when the Wateree River
was dammed. Duke Power owns and manages the lake which is surrounded
by 3 counties: Fairfield, Kershaw, and Lancaster. Lake Wateree
spans over 216 miles of shoreline and includes a state park,
bird refuge, and Shaw Air Force Base Recreation center. Photo

is the Wateree Homeowners Association. They keep members updated
on matters which will affect home owners on Lake Wateree. The Lake Wateree Sail
Club is an avid group of sailing enthusiasts who use the
great weather, and balmy breezes to host races and other club

The
State Park on Lake Wateree contains 238 acres of managed
and protected forest land. It provides a refuge habitat for
many species of wildlife with an abundance of deer, egrets,
blue heron, mallards, and wood ducks Campground sites are
also available.
